USCG National Chemical Transportation Safety Advisory Committee Meeting Series in Houston, TX November 1 – 3, 2022 and Online

The U.S. Coast Guard[1] announced in the Federal Register that it will conduct a series of meetings in November on the safe and secure marine transportation of hazardous materials.  The Committee operates under the provisions of the Federal Advisory Committee Act (5 U.S.C. appendix) and 46 U.S.C.15109.

The National Chemical Transportation Safety Advisory Committee subcommittees will meet

• Tuesday, November 1, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Daylight Time (CDT), 
• Wednesday, November 2, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Daylight Time (CDT), and
•  the full Committee will meet on Thursday, November 3, 2022, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. CDT.

The meeting will be held at U.S. Coast Guard Marine Safety Unit Texas City, 3101 FM 2004, Texas City, TX 77591.

Meetings are open to the public.  Pre-registration is required for in-person access to the meeting or to attend the subcommittee meetings by videoconference. To pre-register for in person or virtual attendance, contact Lieutenant Ethan Beard at Ethan.T.Beard@uscg.mil. You will be asked to provide your name, telephone number, email, company or group with which you are affiliated, and whether you wish to attend virtually or in person.

You are free to submit comments at any time, including orally at the meeting as time permits, but if you want Committee members to review your comment before the meeting, please submit your comments no later than October 18, 2022. We are particularly interested in comments on the issues in the “Agenda” listed in the Federal Register at https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2022/10/13/2022-22269/national-chemical-transportation-safety-advisory-committee-november-2022-meeting.

SCAA members should participate and represent our industry perspective providing expertise, knowledge, and experience on matters related to the safe and secure marine transportation of hazardous materials.
