Ed Levine Retires After Long Career at NOAA

Ed Levine, Response Operations Supervisor – East and Gulf Regions, at the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office of Response & Restoration is retiring after thirty-three years of service with NOAA.  Ed served 28 years as a NOAA Scientific Support Coordinator (SSC), operating out of Governor’s Island before relocating to Battery Park, South Manhattan and after about 28 years, making the move to NOAA Headquarters in Silver Spring, MD where he is finishing up his career at the end of 2019.  All in Government and our spill response industry who have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Ed over the past three decades regard him as a highly knowledgeable and experienced professional with a heart of gold, positive attitude and much humor, always willing to share information and add a few sea stories.  Ed is a global response trekker as the *lead* SSC for 249 pollution incidents during his SSC tenure; he provided support to many more during this time as well.

To better appreciate Ed’s humor, his new business card reads:

Ed Levine
Master Scientific Support Coordinator, Retired
Empires advised, beaches explored, roads ridden, friends enjoyed, wine quaffed
**Under no management**

Ed can be contacted via email at RetiredSSC@gmail.com.  Reach out and wish Ed Levine Fair Winds and Following Seas.
