A Note from SCAA President During the Adjustment Period

Dear Member(s):

First and foremost thank you for your membership in the Spill Control Association of America (SCAA). I trust that you, yours, and your organizations are staying safe and feeling well. As the world continues to react to this unprecedented pandemic I wanted to reach out to you during this trying time.

As you know we have cancelled our face to face in person annual meeting and will be announcing the dates and times for a virtual annual meeting with a modified program. The challenges with this format should be minimal as long as you have good internet service and bandwidth. It is exciting to be able to continue moving forward and meeting the bylaw requirements of your association.

The last several weeks have been emotionally and psychologically trying for all of us, but I am inspired by the generally good response and adherence to the guidances established to help us all get through this event. Even more so, I am very proud of our industry to once again respond and adapt to the needs of our customers. Another testament to our “get it done” mantra and solutions based services.

We have a 30 minute presentation “COVID-19 Review.” Is there a specific topic related to the coronavirus epidemic that you want to make sure is discussed at our upcoming virtual conference?

At this time I am asking you for your input and want your feedback:

How can SCAA support you during these trying times?

Are there best practices and experiences we can share among the association as a result of solutions to problems encountered along the way?

Sincerely,

Robert E. Chambers
President
SCAA
