Global has been acquired by Moran Environmental Recovery, LLC (MER)

Global Diving & Salvage, Inc. (Global) announces their acquisition by Moran Environmental Recovery, LLC (MER), headquartered in Randolph, MA. Founded in 1979, Global has positioned itself as an international leader in marine construction, commercial diving, environmental services, and marine casualty response. Global has six locations in the western part of the U.S. and services clients both domestically and worldwide. Global will continue to operate under its current brand, as a wholly-owned subsidiary of MER. MER is an integrated supplier of environmental, industrial, mechanical, and commercial diving services, and is a subsidiary of Moran Towing Corporation.
Brian House, President and CEO of MER stated, “Global is a dynamic company with a highly-regarded legacy for providing commercial diving, salvage, marine construction and environmental services to its client base. This acquisition represents an excellent complement to MER’s existing commercial dive operation, as well as an opportunity to further grow and expand our environmental business. The combined entity allows us to provide coverage both domestically and internationally for our clients. Most importantly, we see great synergy in the culture and values shared by our employees. As such, we are truly delighted to have Global become an important part of the MER organization.”

MER entered into the commercial dive industry in 2014 with the acquisition of Eason Diving & Marine Contractors, Inc. located in Charleston, South Carolina, and then Mainstream Commercial Divers, Inc. of Murray, Kentucky in 2015. The acquisition of Global further complements MER’s strategic position in the commercial diving sector.

Devon Grennan has been appointed to the position of Senior Vice President of MER. In this role he will continue to oversee Global’s business operations, as well as provide executive leadership to MER’s commercial diving, marine construction services, and marine casualty response services. Devon has served as Global’s president since 2009 and CEO since 2013.

“This sale represents the opportunity for expanded geographic reach in the commercial diving and construction infrastructure sectors, as well as the potential to integrate environmental and industrial services. We are excited about the strategic growth opportunity for Global and our employees as we become a MER company.  MER and Global have successfully partnered on client critical projects in the past, and many of our people have worked side by side before.  The combination of the companies presents a formidable service provider in both the domestic market and on the international stage,” said Mr. Grennan.
