Today we are happy to announce that we released our new
online membership application which is accessible from the Members page on our
website. In response to increasing
demand from both our current members and prospective members, we have
implemented this new system which will make the application process easier and
more efficient. The new application
system is a replacement for the old printable form that was on the SCAA
website, in which the user required having both a printer and a fax machine on
hand to be able to submit their application to SCAA.
This new online application system is the first kickoff release
of a number of planned improvements SCAA has on the agenda for 2013 as part of
SCAA’s modernization efforts.
“This new system we have put in place is a step forward in
the direction of achieving a paperless work environment and enhances our efforts
in becoming a greener and more efficient organization.” said Katie Hill,
Marketing and IT Developer for SCAA. “Furthermore,
it makes more sense for the user now - why should we send them to an offline
method, consuming extra time and involving the use of peripherals they may not
have, when they’re clearly online now and able to fill out and submit their
form instantly?” Logically speaking, the
shift to providing more features and functionality online is an obvious must.
As stated, SCAA has a collection of other improvements
underway for release in 2013 including additional paper forms to be converted
to online forms, various SCAA booklets to be produced in digital form and made
available in an online library, and the expansion of our website’s utilities to
provide training and education resources.
