In November 2011, the Oil
Stop Division of AMPOL completed Phase 2 of its contract with the US Coast
Guard Research and Development
Center for the
development and testing of Submerged Oil Recovery Equipment. The OSBORS (Oil
Stop Bottom Oil Recovery System) successfully accomplished a battery of tests.
Moreover, since the OHMSETT facility in Leonardo New Jersey allows the industry
to work with real oil in simulated environments, many things were observed and
learned as to how to further adapt the OSBORS for operation in real-world
scenarios.
