The Maine and New Hampshire Area Committee has announced the updated area contingency plan (ME/NH ACP) as well as the date for their next committee meeting. This meeting will be held at the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services in Portsmouth, NH from 0900-1130 on October 10, 2023.
The contingency plan was updated as of May 12, 2023, to provide the best possible response to marine spills in the area. This plan incorporates lessons learned throughout the previous year and provides areas of improvement gathered from recent review checklists, tabletop drills and discussions, full scale response exercises, and actual responses from the year. The ME/NH ACP is updated on an annual basis, and it is expected that response personnel in the area to be familiar with this plan.
This Area Contingency Plan not only reflects the previously mentioned items, but also highlights the importance of the Maine and New Hampshire coastlines, both environmentally and economically.
