Ohmestt, in partnership with Texas A&M University National Spill Control School, announces this hands-on training course in Leonardo, NJ on September 19-22, 2023.
During the three and a half days of training, participants will learn successful strategies and spill response operations in classroom and hands-on scenarios conducted in the Ohmsett test tank!
Course topics include:
• Hands-on skimming exercises in the Ohmsett tank
• Factors affecting oil spill movement.
• Fates & effects of spilled oil
• Oil skimmer & containment boom selection & use
• Booming & recovery strategies
• Site safety planning
• Incident Command System (ICS)
• Alternative response techniques
• Shoreline Characterization (Introduction to SCAT)
