Phoenix Pollution Control & Environmental Services, Inc. joined forces with Shell Oil to Deliver Water to Jackson, MS

What started as a neighborly conversation with the President/CEO of World Central Kitchen (WCK) in Alexandria, VA, identifying a critical need for water to support emergency food preparation and drinking water for the residents of Jackson, MS, resulted in Phoenix Pollution Control and Shell USA teaming up and delivering a truckload, containing 1,512 cases of bottled water.  The truck was loaded in Texas and delivered the water to WCK just before midnight on September 2nd.   Phoenix’s President, aka SCAA President, Nelson Fetgatter, took up the banner and connected with his client, Shell USA, to locate and contribute water.  Together, they sourced the water, loaded the truck, drove over 400mi to Jackson, MS and delivered the water to World Central Kitchen.  All told, this was a remarkable humanitarian feat and accomplishment.  After the delivery was made, Nelson, in his characteristic humble Texan manner, simply said: “We thank you for the opportunity to assist during a time of need and despair.  These were assets that we keep on hand during the hurricane season and were happy to reallocate the needed resources.  As always, we wish that we had additional resources and could do more to support those in need, but it appears that the resources supplied were put to good  use.”
