SCAA Presents Environmental Excellence Scholarship to MIA Grad

Shishiri Nganyone, a student at the Maritime Industries Academy (MIA) in Baltimore, Maryland was recently awarded the Spill Control Association of America (SCAA) Environmental Excellence Scholarship.   SCAA Executive Director John Allen presented the award certificate to Nganyone at graduation ceremonies held at the MIA.  Shishii is on his way to Towson University in the fall.  

Over the past five years, SCAA has presented an Environmental Excellence Award – an inscribed Weems & Plath Gimbal Box Clock – to a selected recipient graduate at each of the seven maritime academies.  The award recognizes the outstanding senior or First Classman at each maritime academy who has demonstrated outstanding interest, creativity, initiative and commitment to environmental excellence in the performance of their course of study.
